Making dough for a pizza is really easy and doesn't take very much time, this is a pretty fool-proof recipe for a quick dough. Get yourself some all purpose flour and a package of instant yeast, you probably have everything else.
Ingredients
1 cup water
1 tablespoon yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
2-3 cups flour
Directions
Heat the water to 105-110 degrees or so. Typical hot tub is 104 degrees just for a point of reference.
Pour the water into a mixing bowl.
Dissolve the yeast in the water*
Add the sugar, salt and oil to the water.
Add two cups of flour, then slowly add the remaining cup of flour just until the dough pulls together and does not stick to the sides of the bowl. Only add as much flour as you need.
When the dough is well mixed, cover and let rise until double in size. (about 30 minutes)
Pre-heat over to 425 degrees.
Apply cooking spray to a pizza pan and evenly spread the dough on the pan.
Lightly brush the top of the dough with olive oil and bake for 7 1/2 minutes.
Remove from oven, add sauce and toppings as desired
Return pizza to over for and additional 7 1/2 minutes up to 12 minutes.
Cheese should be lightly browned, crust slightly darkened.
We'll often end up with the two halves of a pizza being different combinations either due to personal preference or just to try something different. You can truly get exactly what you want.
*Proofing yeast is the process of making sure yeast is viable. If the yeast is good it will dissolve in water, start multiplying and create a froth on the warm water. Cool water makes sluggish yeast, too hot of water can kill the yeast. I keep yeast in the refrigerator, I take some yeast out, bring it to room temperature, then add it to warm water.
